Lieutenant David Buckalew leads his men from Texas westward in a bid to claim the entire Southwest for the Confederacy. Defeated by the Union army, Buckalew and 19 survivors are stranded in the New Mexico Territory that's filled with hostile Comanches and Union soldiers.
